What is INFormal Recruitment?
This process (also known as Continuous Open Bidding - COB) is a lot less structured than Formal Spring Recruitment and is mostly in a fun or relaxed setting. Not all houses participate in COB, so it is always a great idea to check out the Panhellenic website to see which houses are hosting events!
What events are common?
For the houses that do participate, they often range from a game night, coffee chats, or just a few members reaching out. It is a great way to get to know members of a house in a low-stress environment. For example, in the past Gamma Phi Beta has invited potential new members to our legendary Friday brunches, where they got to mingle with members and eat delicious food! One of the best parts of COB is that if you ever have questions or concerns, you are welcome to reach out to the recruitment team and they will be more than happy to meet you one-on-one to address it. Formal recruitment can be a little overwhelming at times, so COB is a great way to get to know the houses in a more casual setting.
